GEORGIE Custance is hunting the Loddon for a tiny cryptic butterfly.

Historical sightings of the critically endangered ant-blue butterfly has had the Threatened Species Conservancy ecologist scaling the heights of Mount Korong with intern Kirsten Boehm.

They have been on the sleuthing trail of that historic sighting of the large ant-blue butterfly.

““There no accurate date or much information but the record is of the large blue (butterfly),” she said.
