Gate fee waived for good cause
ENTRY to Saturday’s matches between Wedderburn and Boort will be free, thanks to the Strong Communities Flood Recovery fund.

ENTRY to Saturday’s matches between Wedderburn and Boort will be free, thanks to the Strong Communities Flood Recovery fund. The fund was established to aid Loddon Shire communities impacted by floods, and the Shire has decided to splash some money on a sporting celebration. The meeting between the two Loddon Shire teams in the North Central league was deemed the ideal occasion, with the league celebrating Emergency Services Round. The day will feature free children’s activities such as a jumping castle and face-painting, coffee and food trucks will be on site at Donaldson Park, and there will be a live performance by local star Elias Lanyon in the evening. The Wedderburn and Boort clubs see the day as a chance to give back to their communities, volunteers, players and families. Football and netball start at 9.40am and 9.45am respectively with Under 14 games, with Minkey hockey kicking off at 11.10am.
