A look back at what was making local news five years ago
LIFE-LONG Wedderburn resident Howard Matthews is the 2021 Loddon Shire Citizen of the Year. The announcement by Cr Gavan Holt at Wedderburn on Tuesday surprised Howard who was sitting to the side of the Oldtimers’ Bandstand after playing the National Anthem on his euphonium.
BRIDGEWATER has remembered the 10th anniversary of floods across the Loddon Shire with a community barbecue. Development committee vice-president Graham Morse reminded residents the flooding had caused significant damage in January 2011. But he said there had been positives since with the construction of foreshore paths along the Loddon River and redevelopment of the Bridgewater caravan park.
CAFES and hotels across Loddon are expanding their outdoor dining areas to lift business during COVID-19 restrictions.
