So yourself a favour. If you're ever up Queensland way and experience the serenity unpretentiousness of the Betoota Hotel and it's staff. It's one of those places that you would feel totally relaxed and at home. Just a nice space to be.

The road to Birdsville was mostly gravel. This first section had loose gravel and stones that made the going tough but we came across a water truck, then the grader and roller so the next 30 km was fine then back to the hard going.

Don't know why but I've pictured the Birdsville Hotel was on a dirt road but no, bitumen everywhere.

Full of a sense achievement today making it to the iconic Birdsville Hotel and having a beer sitting on the verandah.

Birdsville is expensive. A six pack of beer was $50.50 and don't ask what pack of water was.

Three reports today. Penny did a kiss and tumble. Ben's bike has done the stator for the spark which should be a warranty claim and Nick destroyed a drive chain.

We're all packing up to head out to Big Red for a Captain Cook so I'll update on that tomorrow.

Distance travelled 166km Total distance 2434km
