QUICK thinking by a truck driver has saved his load of refrigerated eggs from being fried in a spectacular fire last week.
Boort volunteer firefighters were called to the Victoria Street truck blaze about 11.30am on Wednesday.
Captain Kel Mayberry said: “The brigade was alerted around 11.30am to a truck fire and upon arrival crews were confronted by a prime mover fully involved in fire.
“Quick thinking by the truck driver enabled him to unhook the trailer and prevent the fire spreading to it and its load of eggs,” Captain Mayberry said.
“Thankfully there were no injuries and brigade members wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire.”
