Isaac Holt and Matt Lockhart spent last Friday driving headers over a canola crop near Glenalbyn.

The pair worked headers throughout the day covering more than 100 hectares.

Club president Chris Hargreaves said the fundraising activity had been assisted by Pioneer’s Dave Smythe with supply of seeds for the crop sown in April.

He said the club’s players “are going a great job in the off-season assisting the club”.

“They have the own farms to work on but also do their bit to help the club in a significant fundraising venture for the Redbacks.”

Many clubs across the North Central Football League plant and harvest crops each year to raise money.

“We lucky to have local farmers allowing use some of their land,” Mr Hargreaves said.
