Flood repair work progresses past the half-way mark

Funding under the National Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements must see works finished within 12 months.
Projects still to be completed include Sylvaterre Road in Pyramid Hill, repairs on the Wedderburn Junction Road and at Newbridge and Woodstock.
The Dunolly-Orville Road bridge replacement with a floodway at Murphys Creek and landscaping in Bridgewater and Tarnagulla are also on the list.
Other projects marked as “on track” in a report to the last meeting of Loddon Shire councillors include a new footpath in Godfrey Street Boort and the plant room at Wedderburn pool.
“The procurement process within council has proven to be highly beneficial in that the costs to council and the National Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements have consistently been within the certified estimates. This has allowed the program to progress in a timely manner and as a result it is anticipated that most work packages will be completed by September,” councillors were told.
“There are 66 individual projects, including five carryovers from previous financial years that form part of the Annual Infrastructure Program 2025-2026. A total of 20 projects have been completed and 45 projects are in progress.”
