FLOATING DUCKS

MORE THAN 1500 rubber ducks were flushed down Boort’s Godfrey Street last Friday

Hundreds took up vantage points to see whose lucky number would be first to cross the finish line.

Boort Development and Tourism’s new president Bradley Haw added the race to the town’s traditional street party.

There was a hint of controversy with anti-duck hunting campaign veteran Laurie Levy invited to “release the ducks from captivity” in a town still popular with shooters each season.

It was the small ducks that best negotiated the gutter and sandbags and line honours went to Wendy Miles will collected a town $1000 shopping voucher.
