First round of T20 Cup this Saturday
THIS Saturday sees the first round of T20 matches in the Upper Loddon Cricket Association senior competition for the 2025-26 season.

THIS Saturday sees the first round of T20 matches in the Upper Loddon Cricket Association senior competition for the 2025-26 season.
T20 matches – played for the Loddon Herald Cup – were introduced last season, with Kingower winning the competition, which is played as part of the usual home-and-away season.
While points won in T20 contests count towards teams’ final tallies on the ladder, there is also a separate mini-league, with the top two teams in the short format games playing off in a final on January 24.
There are five rounds of T20 clashes, including games on the next two Saturdays.
The exception is the Boort Yando versus Arnold match in round 12, which will now be a two-day game played on January 10 and 11.
The teams’ round-one clash was changed from two days to a T20 game to accommodate the Boort aShow.
The Magpies won that match, so technically they are already atop of the T20 ladder.
The introduction of quickfire T20 matches was welcomed last year by clubs because the shorter game time made it easier for players to be available, especially at busy times such as harvest.
It also proved popular with spectators, with a large crowd attending the inaugural final played at Wedderburn Band’s home ground.
Arnold hosts Wedderburn this Saturday, with Bridgewater Bulls at home to Kingower.
The following week sees the Bulls travel to Wedderburn and Boort Yando host Kingower.
