Fire suspicious: Be alert and report call

INVESTIGATORS have been on the scene of a fire that destroyed 0.4 hectares of bush at McIntyre on Friday night.

Forest Fire Management Victoria's Braden Pearce said the fire was suspicious and had asked people who may have seen unusual activity in the area to make a report to Crime Stoppers.

Friday night's fire follows a series of outbreaks in the McIntyre and Moliagul areas last summer.

"We are not saying there are any links but last night's fire was suspicious," Mr Pearce said.

"If people saw anything suspicious as early as Friday morning, please report it."

FRIDAY

CFA volunteers and Forest Fire Management Victoria have brought a fire at McIntyre under control.

Firefighers were called to the area soon after 6pm tonight.

A community information bulletin just issued says:

This Community Information message is being issued for Cains Track, McIntyre. 

  • There is a bushfire at Cains Track, McIntyre, that is under control.

  • Firefighters are currently responding to this fire.

  • The following track is closed: Cains Track. 

There is no immediate threat to the community and no action is required.
