Fire brigades' associations awards Gold Star to Robert Moon
FIRE brigade veteran Robert Moon has been presented with Volunteer Fire Brigades Victoria’s gold star medal.
VFBV District 20 council president and state board member Greg Murphy made the presentation at Friday night’s Pyramid Hill brigade dinner.
Mr Moon is a member of both the Pyramid Hill and Loddon Vale brigades and has been active in the CFA for more than 40 years.
He was among Pyramid Hill brigade members to also receive service medals on the night.
Mr Murphy said Mr Moon’s service to brigades had included being a competitor and judge at state championships.
He had been a a brigade delegate to the Victorian Rural Fire Brigades Association from 1981 to 2008 and then a VFBV delegate across several stints in the last 17 years.
Mr Moon also served as the District 20 vice-president for 10 years until 2023.
Other service has included coaching brigade competition teams.
