Feast day honours saint’s dedication
ST MARY’S Primary School Inglewood was buzzing last week as the school community celebrated the Feast of the Presentation of Mary.

The feast day honoured Mary’s dedication to God at the temple and acknowledging the legacy of the Presentation Sisters in Inglewood.
The day began with a whole-school Mass, where students, staff and families joined in prayer and reflection. The occasion offered a meaningful moment to recognise the school’s faith traditions and the long-standing influence of the Presentation Sisters within the district.
Adding to the spirit of the celebration, the school also hosted its annual Grandparents’ Day.
Grandparents were welcomed and acknowledged for the important role they play in family life.
Principal Steve O’Shannessy said staff described the gathering as a reminder of “the warmth, support and steady presence” grandparents bring — from sharing stories and offering guidance to helping care for children with patience and love.
Festivities continued on the school grounds, where students enjoyed a range of wet play activities.
