LODDON farmers have again flocked to the Elmore Field Days as spring rains give confidence of another season of good crop yields.

Last week’s field days also saw local businesses among hundreds of exhibitors.

Dave Edwards, of Bridgewater Farmware, said there was good interest across the three days from farmers looking to upgrade equipment and increase their use of technology to continue improving farm productivity.

Bridgewater Farmware displayed new-release GPS spraying equipment on its stand.

Dave Smyth, of Pioneer Seeds, spoke with farmers about new seed varieties being trialled across the Loddon.

He said many canola crops were looking good after recent rains.

Pioneer will hold a field day next week at its Marong trial site.

Loddon Plains Landcare Network and LEAD Loddon Mallee leadership program also had stands at the show.

Murray Plains MP Peter Walsh was part of the Nationals’ stand and the CFA Volunteers’ Group launched their anti-emergency services tax mascot Buster the Kookaburra.
