WEDDERBURN’S State Emergency Service unit volunteers now have until next Thursday to get their third COVID vaccination.
Controller Paul Gordon-Cooke said the extension was given late last week.
However, unit members remain on limited duties and still risk being placed “on leave” if they have not had the third, or booster, vaccination. Mr Gordon-Cooke said further talks with being held with SES chiefs.
All SES volunteers are part of the State Government mandate for specified workers to have the booster.
The SES says units from other areas will continue “to support local capacity” and does not expect “any further impact on operational responses”.
