Neil Beattie has told a community meeting in Boort this afternoon that the Kerang road was expected to close tomorrow.

The Loddon Shire Boort Ward councillor said channels were being blocked and sand bagging was continuing.

Closing channels is designed to prevent backflow into the town.

A relief centre will operate in the senior citizens' centre from this afternoon.

More than 150 people were at the meeting.

The flood peak is expected in Boort some time from Wednesday.
