The game of the round is on the mighty Loddon River at Maroon headquarters, where Newbridge does battle with the downstream Serpentine Bears, both sides having had wins last week against sides around them on the ladder.
This will be a very close contest with very little in it at the end, but Priest and Twigg may be the difference in the Bears’ favour.
Pyramid at home at the Kennel should win against Mitiamo in the battle for the Mologa Cup. Bridgewater, still licking its wounds from last week’s loss to Marong, hosts Maiden Gully. The Mean Machine will be too good for an improved Eagles outfit.
Inglewood at home should account for Calivil to string together three wins on the trot, get back on par and nudge into the top five.
Finally, Marong travels up the Loddon Valley Highway past the Canary Island and Appin turnoffs to Macorna, where the Panthers should win on the Tigers’ home deck, even with Fergus Payne returning from three weeks on the naughty step.
