Environmental water flows into lake

North Central Catchment Management Authority has also started an autumn low flow heading down Serpentine Creek.
It says up to 10 megalitres a day will flow down the waterway to maintain connection to help water quality, protect deep pools for native fish, and wet areas for native aquatic and streamside plants. NCCMA says the highest-priority reach for environmental watering is from the Loddon Weir to Kerang Weir, where there are good opportunities to improve vegetation condition and fish abundance and because this reach doesn’t receive any flows for irrigation deliveries.
No environmental flows are planned for Lake Boort in 2026.
There are no plans to deliver water for the environment at Lake Leaghur in 2026 as the wetland is naturally drawing down.
Meanwhile, Laanecoorie Reservoir has dropped to just below 41 per cent capacity with levels falling 140ML last week.
The reservoir is holding 3260ML compared with 3180ML this time last year.
Cairn Curran Reservoir is at 26 per cent capacity with 38,263ML, well down on 61,680ML a year ago. Tullaroop Reservoir is holding 33.66 per cent, also down on mid-May 2025.
