Emergency services spread preparedness message
COMMUNITY preparedness for disasters and emergencies has been strengthened in Boort after an information session.

Boort District Health partnered with the Country Fire Authority, Ambulance Victoria and State Emergency Service for the Floods, Fires and Water Safety evening.
Northern District Community Health, Multicultural Connect Central Victoria, Loddon Shire Council, the Loddon Mallee Public Health Unit, Australian Red Cross, ARC Justice and other local agencies also spoke at the session.
BDH director clinical services Mubara Meera Sahib said: “The event brought together families, community members and local emergency services for an informative and engaging evening focused on preparedness, prevention and safety.
“People had the opportunity to learn about local emergency response arrangements, ask questions directly of emergency service personnel, explore emergency vehicles and equipment, and better understand how different agencies work together during emergencies.
“The evening also fostered strong community connection, with residents and service providers coming together over a shared meal.
“The event reinforced a collective commitment to community safety and resilience, particularly important in areas facing increasing risks from floods, fires and extreme weather,” he said.
