Eight awarded industry scholarships

EIGHT aspiring agriculture students from across the region have been recognised with scholarships celebrating their passion and commitment to pursuing careers in the sector.

As part of the North Central LLEN program, students attended an industry afternoon last week with the Nutrien Ag team in Boort.

This year’s schoplarship recipients are Jack Gould (Boort District School), Michael Olive (Charlton College), Ella Gleisner (Wedderburn College), Will Kunde (Pyramid Hill College), Darcy Condliffe (East Loddon P12), Chase Campbell (Donald High School), Mark Austin (Wycheproof P12) and Charlie Mitchell (Tyrrell College, Sea Lake).

The session featured a panel discussion with agronomist Mikaela Wilkinson, stock agents James Wilson and Zak Johnson and the branch manager Cam MItchell who shared insights into their career journeys and the diverse pathways available within the agriculture sector.

North Central LLEN’s Sue Gould said the afternoon provided students with valuable exposure to real-world industry experiences, networking opportunities and a deeper understanding of career options.
