Principal Matthew Lehane said the year had been filled with memorable learning experiences from Foundation to Grade 6.

“Our students embraced every opportunity this year,” Mr Lehane said. “For a small school, we achieved a huge amount, and our kids showed curiosity, confidence and resilience.”

Highlights included River Detectives, River Swimming, a Carlton Football Club visit, a lively Downball Incursion, Book Week at Raywood Primary School, and a whole-school Melbourne Camp attended by students from Foundation to Grade 6. Community events such as the BOLD Carols and a Movie Night on the Oval also brought families together.

Mr Lehane said the school’s sense of community was one of its greatest strengths. “These shared experiences build connection,” he said. “Our students feel supported by their school and by the wider community.”

The school also celebrated the graduation of Hunter Ryan, who has been a valued leader, friend, and role model.

“Hunter loves his sport — especially soccer and football — and he’s formed strong friendships across the school,” Mr Lehane said. “He looks out for younger students and has shown excellent leadership as our vice-captain.”

As Hunter heads off to secondary school, the Bridgewater Primary community sends him with their full support.

“We wish Hunter all the best,” Mr Lehane said.

“We hope his time at Bridgewater has helped prepare him with the tools, confidence and resilience he needs to succeed in secondary school and beyond,” he said.
