CALIVIL’S bold bid for a top three finish in Loddon Valley A Grade netball have ended with a draw against Marong on Saturday.

The Demons had the edge for most of the tightly-contested game but were outscored by Marong in the final quarter.

The Panthers clawed back from a nine-goal deficit at the main break to all but secure their top three finish.

While there was a reported appeal against the result based on an alleged scorecasrd error, league executive officer Laura Naughton confirmed on Tuesday that the drawn result stood.

Calivil is a game and more than 14 per cent behind third-placed Mitiamo.

Maiden Gully will finish the season minor premiers after shrugging off a determined Bridgewater by nine goals.
