DOMINIC Gregory was back in Pyramid Hill on Saturday for the first time in decades.
The occasional runner from Ringwood East took the opportunity to be among the first participants in the town’s parkrun to return to the ancestral stomping ground,
Dominic said his mother had been born in the town and he had been visiting Pyramid Hill most of his life “but not for the last 37 years”.
He had planned to come up for last year’s Loddon Valley Football League grand final that featured Pyramid Hill.
“Unfortunately the day before was the funeral for my father Jack,” he said.
While Dominic missed that epic clash, he sported a club training top for Saturday’s parkrun.
“It’s actually the first time I’ve ever done a parkrun,” he said after completing three laps around the hill.
Run organiser Jason Dellar said: “From first-timers to seasoned parkrunners, families to solo adventurers, today’s event was a perfect reflection of what Pyramid Hill is all about – connection, challenge, and community.”
