Discovery day had aim of boosting involvement
WEDDERBURN organisations filled the Coach House Gallery courtyard on Sunday for a meet and greet day aimed at new residents in the district.

Community house co-ordinator Louise Cook said the day was aimed at helping people connect and showing them organisations that “are part of making our town click”.
“We have seen a lot of people move into the area in recent years and wanted to bring organisations to a central point where people could discover ways to be involved and volunteer,” Louise said.
“Connection is so important in country communities and we want to see new residents connected.”
Louise said there had been a steady stream of people wander through the courtyard throughout the day.
Wedderburn SES unit, the historical records society, Wedderurn Tourism and the CWA branch had displays.
Members of the indoor bias bowls club discussed their sport with people while Wedderburn Lions Club provided a free barbecue lunch.
“We were able to showcase a number of organisations as well as talk about the services provided through the community house,” Louise said.
“The Coach House Gallery courtyard was a great setting to engage with people and talk about our town.”
