PARENTS have been told student reports will have a different look this semester.

East Loddon P12 College principal Steve Leed said that only student achievement against Victorian Curriculum levels and progress since the last time a subject was reported would appear on reports later this month.

The reduced reporting comes after industrial unrest as teachers battled the State Government for improved pay and conditions.

Although action was now on hold, Mr Leed said there would be some differences.

“VCE reports will also look slightly different this semester with some staff opting to provide written comment around learning tasks, which will be available n Compass. Only numerical results will be provided on reports for all VCE subjects.

“I understand that reporting this semester is different to the norm, and I strongly encourage families to make contact with their child’s teacher to gain a greater level of feedback.

“The industrial action focusses on the provision of written report comments and not on the level of feedback that can take place between staff and families,” Mr Leed said in a newsletter to parents last week.
