CONSTRUCTION of an annexe to house a rare Cliff and Bunting traction engine and installation of digital equipment in the old council chambers have been set as Inglewood’s funding priorities.
Inglewood Development and Tourism Committee, will made the recommendations as the town’s community planning group for Loddon Shire funding over the next year.
More than $145,000 has already been raised or committed for the annexe project at Inglewood’s eucalyptus distillery museum.
The engine was used in the 1920s by Alf Leech for contract chaff-cutting and road haulage before acquired by Ernest Jones, who operated a eucalyptus distillery.
At last week’s annual meeting of the committee, Peter Moore was re-elected president with Lynette Rose vice-president and Pauline Wellman secretary.
Richard Jenney was elected treasurer.
The development and tourism committee is also continuing its push for improved road safety measures on the Calder Highway in Brooke Street.
