Derby solar farm was one of six projects under the State Government’s Victorian Renewable Energy Target auction (VRET2)scheme.

Sungrow who purchased development from ACEnergy in September 2020 received CIS listing in October.

“Since Derby has been awarded under the Federal Capacity Investment Scheme (CIS), we will commit to a comprehensive engagement plan, including benefit-sharing initiatives and the creation of local employment and training opportunities,” said Sungrow senior project development manager Christos Papadopoulos on Monday.

“We are confident that construction will commence in 2026.”

Mr Papadopoulos said approvals were also being sought for inverters and grid connection.

“We are in the final stages of approvals,” he said.
