More than 12 CFA units are fighting a fire near Newbridge as winds and storms come through the region.

The fire on Bridgewater-Maldon Road, near Cays Lane, started about 8.30 tonight and a community warning has been issued.

Vic Emergency says the fire has been contained and smoke will be visible from nearby roads and communities.

Emergency services will remain on scene.

There is no immediate threat to the community and no action is required, the advise said.
