Crafty creatives rewarded with regional prizes
TOP exhibitors at the annual Boort Show have taken their success to the next level.
TOP exhibitors at the annual Boort Show have taken their success to the next level.
They had qualified last October for the Northern District Agicultural Societies’ Association finals in Swan Hill.
Gaye Sim again showed she is one of the region’s leading handcraft exponents winning the crochet article any yarn – Gaye Sim from bellow Boort competitior Merryn Rees who was third.
Gaye was also awarded top prize in the hand knitted garment category while Rick Loader was second in the men’s handcrafts section.
Boort Show juniors were also among the regional prizes with orange cake uniced second won by Emily Henderson,m Ava Davidson Train was third in Anzacs and Keira Henderson highly commended in decorated Marie discuits Keira Henderson.
Alisha Henderson was first in decorated cup cakes while Alice Marsh took out the needlework section for cushions,
Meanwhile, Boort Show has been named a finalist in the Victorian Agricultural Shows people’s choice awards for a second successive year. Boort in 2025 finished third in the award.
Also in the top 10 are Bendigo, Donald, Foster, Goroke, Horsham, Kyneton, Nathalia, Sunbury and Whittlesea.
The winner will be announced at the annual VAS conference in Wangaratta next month with Boort.
