THE wait for Inglewood district residents to be part of the State Government’s container deposit scheme is over.
The town’s motel and caravan park has been confirmed as the location to return containers after owners Pauline and Jerry Wellman signed up to be the local depot.
Inglewood IGA had originally been listed as the town’s depot but withdrew before the scheme started in November.
The Loddon Shire currently has three locations with others in Boort and Wedderburn.
However the Lakeside Cafe BP Boort had said it would not be taking any more cans, bottles or plastic containers for recycling for a week leading to New Year's Day.
“Our bins are full. Visy have delayed emptying our bins due to public holidays,” the cafe said.
The scheme gives Victorians a 10-cent refund for every eligible container returned. Several hundred locations have already been announced.
