Community will be ‘involved and informed’ on turbine plan
EUROPEAN Energy will take its plans for a 39-turbine wind farm near Pyramid Hill to the community at an information session this month.

EUROPEAN Energy will take its plans for a 39-turbine wind farm near Pyramid Hill to the community at an information session this month.
The Danish-owned company proposing to build the turbines, a sub-station, battery and internal transmission line at Mincha said it wanted the community “involved and informed during the development of this project”.
Plans published online at the weekend by the company show two sub-stations at opposite ends of the project site - near Mincha North Road and McDougalls Road in the north and Findlays Road.
“We expect that Mincha will host 280 megawatts of wind energy generation, with the potential for solar energy generation further down the track,” European Energy said.
European Energy was founded in Denmark in 2004 and has grown to be a major global renewable energy company with more than 900 staff around the world. It opened an Australian office in 2022 and is working on about 15 projects.
Meanwhile, project updates on the proposed wind farm at nearby Macorna will be available at sessions in Pyramid Hill and Kerang starting next week.
Further sessions are planned for next month by Atmos Renewables.
The Pyramid Hill district updates come after planning permit applications were lodged for the proposed Meering West wind farm. The permits, if granted, would give the green light to 164 turbines 280 metres tall across 20,000 hectares and a storage battery on land. Objections will close on August 8.
