AFL Central Victoria is yet to decide the fate of the latest Maiden Gully junior football plan.
The reduced-size commission has received paperwork from Maiden Gully Junior Football Club and the Bendigo and Loddon Valley leagues.
Eight weeks out from the start of the 2024 season, Maiden Gully’s push to enter an under 18 side in the Bendigo league remains unresolved.
AFL Central Victoria interim general manager Cameron Tonkins on Monday said: “at this stage I am unable to offer any clarity on the pending process, particularly timeframes for any decisions or communication to key parties. “
Loddon Valley has consistently said it wants Maiden Gully back in its junior ranks after standing out of the competition for two seasons.
The return of Maiden Gully would see a seven-team under 18 local competition.
Maiden Gully’s senior club earlier had its bid to take juniors to Bendigo this year, with seniors to follow in 2025, knocked back by the commission after an appeal by Loddon Valley.
Bendigo league this season has nine teams.
