College back in the breakthrough pits
ALMOST a decade after its last run Wedderburn College returned to the track to compete in the Energy Breakthrough Challenge in Maryborough.

Teacher Trevor Braybrook said: “Our Year 8 team competed with great effort and teamwork, riding through design judging, scrutineering, practice sessions and the tough endurance race.”
The vehicle used was designed and built with the help of the college’s vocational major students, during Terms 3 and 4.
Mr Braybrook said “Throughout the whole event, the students supported one another and stayed positive, especially during the long overnight ride.
“The pit crew did a great job at making sure the riders were ready and had everything they needed when they finished their riding stint.”
The team completed a total of 308 laps with a fastest lap time of 2:56 by Blaz Cramp.
Representing Inglewood with their Sminglewood vehicle, St Mary’s Primary School also competed in the competition and finished 77th in the primary category with 193 laps completed.
