Coddling good weekend
ANGLERS took prime positions along the Loddon River for the start of Murray cod season.

Bridgewater Caravan Park, Newbridge and Laanecoorie were popular spots for anglers while 15 members of the Kyneton club camped over the weekend on the river at Salisbury West.
President Neil Wheelan said the longest Murray cod caught by club members measured 85cm while there were good numbers of yellowbelly hooked over three days.
Secretary John Condliffe said most fish had been caught from the river bank. “The river is a bit low at the moment so it’s a bit difficult for boats to get onto the water,” he said.
Murray cod season officially started on December 1.
