Club veteran presented with region’s top monthly award
BEV Taig has been presented with the Bendigo Playing Area’s bowler of the year award for March.

The Inglewood club veteran was recognised for her contributions to lawn bowls over more than three decades.
Bev was described a contributors whose impact stretched beyond on-green achievements.
“Every club has a defining figure — someone whose influence spans generations, whose leadership shapes culture, and whose presence becomes woven into the fabric of the place,” her award citation said.
Bev served seven years as ladies president and is a long serving member of the management, selection and catering committees
She is a guiding mentor for new bowlers, was a driving force behind the 2003 clubhouse extension and a major sponsor and tireless volunteer.
Her achievements on the green are equally impressive.
Bev has won three ladies’ club championships, six club pairs titles, a Bendigo District Ladies’ Association fours win, and five Premierships.
“But it is her influence, stability and generosity that have underpinned Inglewood’s success for decades,” her nomination said. “Bev is the heartbeat of her club, and her contribution is deeply appreciated.”
