Class friends back on the Hill for reunion
FORMER Pyramid Hill school students and one of their favourite teachers were back together.

The group had attended Pyramid Hill Central Classes, as the school was known, from 1961 and has held reunions for more than 40 years.
More than a dozen gathered for a lunchtime picnic at the Hill where Lynne Murphy, their English and Form 1 teacher, shared in stories and memories.
Glenda said the first reunion had been in 1983 when the former students were in their mid-20s. “Many of us were together last year for the funeral of Marlene Hazen who had been our Grade 2 teacher - another of the favourites - and thought we should come together again,” she said.
Now known as Pyramid Hill College, Glenda said students were taught in buildings since demolished with the woodwork room doubling as the venue for school socials while they travelled to Boort and Cohuna for some classes.
Lynne said the students were good to teach. “They did what they were told,” she said. The reunion weekend included a dinner at the Victoria Hotel on Saturday night.
