But while the project to produce 200MW of renewable energy to power approximately 71,500 homes originally was to have been operational more than a year ago, Risen Energy says a definite date on construction and connection to the grid is at least six months away.

“We are still progressing through financing arrangements with investors and lenders and will only be able to provide a more definitive date some time during quarter two of next year,” Risen’s country manager Qiao Nan Han told the Loddon Herald this week.

The site on Pyamid-Yarraberb Road has also been earmarked for a co-located battery.

Developers originally received a planning permit for the solar farm from Loddon Shire before the State Government assumed responsibility for major planning decisions.

Risen is a major manufacturer of solar panels.
