The Loddon's first child care centre will be build in Wedderburn.

The State Government today announced the centre would be co-located at Wedderburn College and open some time in 2026.

The announcement follows commitments during last year's election campaign by both Labor and the Coalition to address the shire's child care desert.

Wedderburn parents and the college leadership have been pushing for action on child care for three years and have welcomed the annoouncement.
