CHANNEL STOPPER
A channel and swift action from the firefighting chopper helped volunteers from six CFA brigades extinguish a fire in Gladfield Road on Friday afternoon.

Pyramid Hill brigade captain Steve Mann said the cause of the fire which burnt 20 hectares of stubble and trees was unknown. Firefighters battled the fire in temperatures above 40 degrees and winds hitting more than 30kmh. Mr Mann said the fire was stopped at a channel on the property.
