CATALYST Metals has started scoping work to prepare an environmental impact statement to support its bid to build a gold exploration tunnel near Mitiamo.
The company said last week that the $20 million project at Four Eagles would require the statement.
Catalyst told shareholders that the work plan for the tunnel continued to be part of discussions with the Victorian Government.
“To gain approval for an exploration tunnel at the Four Eagles Project, collaboration with Victorian Government’s regulation body, Earth Resources Regulation (ERR) has continued during the quarter,” Catalyst said.
“The Four Eagles Gold Project comprises numerous prospects, four of which are Boyd’s Dam, Hayanmi, Pickles and the Iris Zone. Management’s main focus at the Four Eagles Joint Venture is to gain approval to construct an access tunnel to explore underground.
“No significant field activity was undertaken in the September quarter. This period is often hampered by wet weather restricting equipment access and seasonal cropping by landholders,” Catalyst said in its statement released to the ASX.
