Carter's Legacy: Postie bikes make to Cobar
Day 3 has been a big day for Carter's Legacy Ride honouring Carter Keeble and raising funds for Boort District Health, as postie bike rider Owen Rule checks in from Cobar after more than 400km in the seat

The group got into a bit of a groove today with an early start. Because I'd refueled and checked the oil on Rhondda the night before I headed North out of Hay into the plains to a destination unknown while the others went to the servo. It then turns into a game to see how far I get in front before they catch me and fun for them to chase me down which to 30 minutes today.
Good news today with no incidents to report. A group of five bikes including Rhondda slipped in behind one of the support crew towing a closed-in trailer which created a vacuum and towed us along faster until Rhondda reached a speed never achieved before at 76kmh before deciding that's enough and pulled back into the wind.
First stop was at Booligal for a fuel top up followed by the now ritual of chasing Rhondda.
Hilston on the Lachlan River was the lunch stop and fuel then on to Mount Hope pub for a schooner. Fascinatingly the verandah is only a few metres from the highway. History has it that the pub was told to move but after pulling the heritage card and telling the authorities they'll need to move the highway thing went quiet.
Our camp tonight is on the flats Cobar reservoir. Pretty at sunset.
Distance travelled 401km
