Bridgewater businesses impacted by last Friday's floods are re-opening.

The community came together last night when the Bridgewater Hotel re-opened after water from the Loddon River overflowed into the hotel and up the main street.

IMG BBQ was able to cook up food it had purchased ahead of this weekend's Bendigo Show, now cancelled as the showgrounds continue as an emergency relief centre.

The hotel's kitchen opens from tonight.

Bridgewater Bakehouse has also continued its clean up effort and expects to re-open early next week.

Bridgewater Post Office resumed trading last Monday.
