CFA volunteers took less than 30 minutes to control a burn-off that escaped its containment area last Thursday.
The grass and stubble fire at the corner of Boort-Charlton Road and Geary Road was reported about 4.30pm.
Boort brigade captain Kel Mayberry said that while fire restrictions had ended in the Loddon Shire, property owners must still take care when burning off.
“Ground cover remains dry across the region and mild afternoons and winds still pose a fire danger,” he said.
