Serpentine brigade has signedsix new members who on Sundayjoined recruits with the Mitiamo,Dingee Tandarra, Newbridge andCohuna brigades for the fourth
session in their general firefightertraining course.
Trevor Boyd took new brigade members through consolidation and practical modules.
Recruits were back at the Serpentinefire station on Mondaynight for a theory assessmentand will have their practical assessmentnext Thursday.
Serpentine captain NevilleCockerell and his counterpartsfrom Dingee Tandarra and Mitiamohave been assisting withtraining.
Mr Cockerell said his brigadewas pleased with the influx ofnew members.“We have been actively engagingacrossing our community thisyear to encourage young residents
to join and boost the numberof volunteers,” Mr Cockerellsaid.
Serpentine brigade is hoping tohave a new fire station in 2025after an announcement of fundingin the state Budget four yearsago.
