Brigade open day delivers summer safety message

BE PREPARED for summer was the message from Wedderburn Fire Brigade members last Friday.
Captain Harry Hargreaves said the brigade’s open day had aimed to engage the community ahead of the summer fire season.
“We want to help people be prepared and ready,” Mr Hargreaves said.
Members also used the open day as a working bee mowing grass and removing hazards around the station.
Station improvements are expected to continue in the next few months with remodelling to create new turnout rooms for male and female members of the brigade.
“The works will make our station better equipped for use by all members when they return from fires,” he said.
