Quambatook farmer Brett Hosking is the new Victorian Farmers' Federation president.
He defeated egg farmerDanyel Cucinotta in the election.
In results announced this morning, Tallangatta's Peter Star was named the new vice-president.
Mr Hosking's biography says he is is an experienced and respected agricultural advocate and has previously served as Vice-President of the VFF (2016-2018) and President of the VFF Grains Group.
He is a fifth-generation mixed farmer from Quambatook in Victoria’s Mallee region where he grows wheat, barley, canola, lentils, field peas as well as running sheep and cattle.
He is also a respective Director of the Birchip Cropping Group and Farmers for Climate Action and Chair of the Grains Market Access Committee for Grains Australia and a former Grain Growers Chair.
Brett believes the VFF’s greatest opportunities come through strong members, branches and commodity groups aligned together under stable and inclusive leadership where informed and enthusiastic voices combine to create greater outcomes for all farmers.
