The win by Edna Patterson, David Shay, Patsy Lyndon and skip Ian Bradley proved match-winning in the overall 92-86 triumph.

The teams won two rinks each, with both of Bridgewater’s wins by 12 shots.

Inglewood’s other win was by seven shots.

Victory saw Inglewood jump two spots from the bottom of the ladder, but more is needed to ensure the club’s place in the division.

This week presents another opportunity, with the Woodies to face Golden Square, which sits one place below them on the table.

Bridgewater is now fourth, with a tough match against second-placed Bendigo on Saturday.

Inglewood’s Division 1 weekend pennant side put in an encouraging performance away from home against unbeaten Castlemaine, going down 90-72 on the synthetic green.

Best rink on the day was Blake Smyth, David Whitehead, Lindsay Kelly and skip Craig Kelly, who won by five shots.

The team is last on the ladder, but meets another winless side, Golden Square, on Saturday.

Inglewood’s midweek pennant teams are struggling, with Division 1 losing by 68-43 shots against Golden Square and sitting seventh on the ladder, just ahead of Marong.

The rink of Merilyn Chamberlain, Brendan Hopcott, Denis Wilson and Arthur Harrison battled their way to a 17-17 draw.

Division 4 lost 59-48 to Golden Square, with Bev Taig’s rink winning a tight game by two shots.

Bridgewater’s Division 2 Goldfields side got a touch up from unbeaten Maryborough Highland Society Black, losing 67-16 shots.

However, the team still sits fourth on the ladder with three wins and three losses.
