THE lights were officially switched on at Bridgewater Bowling Club on Sunday night.
President Chris Brooshooft and Loddon Mayor Gavan Holt flicked the switch to mark completion of the lighting project.
The project was funded by club fundraising, the shire and Inglewood and Districts Community Bank.
Club officials timed the ceremony for mid-way through its annual fours tournament that was contested as twilight event.
Fourteen teams from across the Loddon, Bendigo and other areas sought honours this year.
A tied result saw the Eaglehawk team skippered by Paul Rohan and Serpentine’s quartet by Brian Gladman both won three games and the same amount of ends - 76 points - to share the prizemoney.
Bridgewater’s midweek twilight bowls competition started last week with opening honours going to the team led by the club president.
