Blues structure eases volunteer workload
INGLEWOOD Football Netball Club is revamping its committee structure to try to spread the load for volunteers.

President Darrell Billett said some people were doing too much, causing burn out and a frequent changeover of office holders.
“We don’t want to lose people because of the workload.”
Billett said he had seen how overwork could impact a community football club, with the example of the entire committee at Eaglehawk football club, where his brother was a volunteer, quitting at the same time.
The new structure is aimed at seeing two or more people share key jobs.
Secretary David Rose is set to oversee the club’s 150th anniversary celebrations, and Inglewood hopes another volunteer will help with day-to-day activities.
In a call for more volunteer nominees, the club described the existing committee structure as “outdated and unsustainable”.
Previous roles have been split into individual positions, and while volunteers may still hold multiple responsibilities, Inglewood is keen to see nobody taking on more than three jobs.
The club is also aiming to have at least two extra netball representatives on the new committee.
Billett will stand for election as president after taking over mid-season when Tim Birthisel stepped down due to ill-health.
Executive positions will be decided at the club AGM on next week.
