ALL ROADS lead to Inglewood on Saturday as the football netball club celebrates its 150th anniversary.

The region’s only match for the King’s Birthday weekend will see the famous Loddon Valley club up against its oldest rival Bears Lagoon Serpentine.

The club expects to welcome a crowd of at least double the normal attendance.

The senior football team and the A Grade netballers will wear specially-designed commemorative uniforms on the day, which will feature a string of events.

A highlight will be the news that nine “lost” football premiership flags from 1895-1946 are to be replaced by replicas funded by the families of premiership players.

As well, the netball honour board which only dates from 1993 will be augmented by a new board spanning 1967 to 1992.

David Rose’s new book on the history of the club will be launched at 11am.

Entitled Inglewood Immortals, the 200-page book focuses on profiles of premiership players, Team of the Century members, All Star netballers and club life members.

Events will begin at 9.30am with an Under 14s intra-club game. Inglewood’s Under 18 footballers will take on the East Loddon Rams at 10.10am in an important match between the teams placed fifth and sixth on the ladder.

Football game times have been brought forward by half an hour, with a B Grade netball match to be played in place of a 17 & Under game given that the Bears don’t have a team in that grade.

The time changes will allow the A Grade match to be a standalone feature on the netball courts at 3pm. Senior footballers will play at 1.45pm.

In the evening, 300 people will attend a formal Gala Dinner at Truscott Stadium in California Gully highlighted by the announcement of a Netball Hall of Fame and auction of the commemorative guernseys and dresses.
