EAST Loddon P12 College’s new library and multi-purpose room combines modern and traditional architectural elements.
Principal Steve Leed said parts of the new $4.5 million building had “a shearing shed look” that also reflected the district.
Contemporary touches include a space to exhibit art works with a combination of natural and energy lights giving the building a bright feeling.
Mr Leed said staff had been assisted by a group of students in making final checks of the building before its official completion.
Meanwhile, college leaders held their first talks with architects and builders for the $12.754 million upgrade of the school.
East Loddon was one of two Loddon schools to be allocated funds in this year’s State Government budget for substantial upgrades. Wedderburn College has received $12.9 million.
The Government had said an early start will be made on both projects with construction expected to start in 2023.
